Ingredients

 

Caramel sugar

70 g sugar

3 tablespoons water

 

Making a pie

2 eggs

100 g sugar

½ liter milk

18 Maria cookies

 

Preparation

 

To make the caramel: Place sugar in a small saucepan and add water. Cook over medium-medium heat, stirring slightly when the sugar begins to brown. It takes about 5 minutes.

 

Spread caramel: Pour the golden brown caramel over the bottom of the pan, covering well. Allow to cool and set aside.

 

Prepare the pie mixture: Break the Maria cookies in a blender with the eggs, sugar and milk until even and smooth.

 

Pour the mixture into the mold: Pour the pie mixture over the hardened caramel in the mold.

 

Cooking: Place molds in a skillet or large stockpot. Fill water to about 3 cm below the rim of the pan. Cover the molds with aluminum foil and add a lid to the pan. Cook over high heat until the water boils, then reduce to low and simmer for 20 minutes.

 

Cooling and refrigerating: Turn off the heat and let rest until the water has cooled. Then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to achieve the perfect consistency.
